Large parts of the app, backend, and this website were created with generative AI and iteratively reviewed. This let us build more variants and test automatically than would otherwise be economical. Product decisions, safety boundaries, and releases are the responsibility of the human behind it.
Captures are stored as files on your iPhone — visible in the “Tellme” folder in Files, and optionally in Photos too. For analysis, only the single image and your question go to the AI.

Tellme uses Claude by Anthropic with structured, validated answers. Model selection by quality, speed, and cost is built in. With your own API key you can alternatively use OpenAI, Grok, or OpenRouter — or your own local model via Ollama or LM Studio.
